Have you seen...?

 'Have you seen' is probably the most asked question in our flat.Have you seen that cat with tights video, have you seen that new Jimmy Kimmel video, have you seen that new trailer- we are embarrassingly in synch in terms of the YouTube videos we watch on a daily basis. Yes, I said it.
It is really hard for people to come over and take part in our weird conversations and inside jokes, believe me. We are a big bunch of weirdos.
So anyways-
a couple of 'have you seen' for you guys!

I am slightly embarrassed to admit that Mona and I re-enacted this on our way home tonight.

3 more TV shows- check.

Now I've got quite a lot of time on my hands, I watch even more Tv shows than during term time. Which is bad. I end up sitting on my bed for hours watching this show that I only started watching because I wanted 20 minutes of entertainment while I am eating or cooking.

So here are the three recent shows I watched-

This show is great for just simple entertaining and I used to watch Dawson's Creek when I was younger, so I even appreciate all the refernces to it.

I really like the dialogue in this one, which seems weird. And I like the characters, sort of.

Now this one I am proper obsessed with right now. I even randomly start to (trying and failing) sign while I talk. I just can't help it, I watch this show for pretty much 5 hours every day and somehow my brain thinks I need to sign, too. So I might take a sign language course, to actually do it right.

Robbie Williams Concert {Take the Crown Tour 2013, Glasgow}

Phueew, I have anticipated this concert for soooo long and all of the sudden it was happening.It was a bit of a shame that I was going by myself, but oh well. The crowd was a bit strange to be honest, mostly middle aged women with pink glittery hats. Not sure who else I excpected though.

Now because he is still touring and I don't want to "ruin" the show for anyone, I will just put the rest of the post behind the cut. Don't read it when you are still going to see the show, I think it would just spoil a lot of the fun.

The EIFF Opening Gala

via x
Ughh I am sitting here, trying to find words for the past two days (say what?). In a way, it feels like forever already. It's so strange how you meet all these new people and after such a short amount of time you already skipped the weird awkward introductionary (is that a word?) talks and just... I don't know, start being something else than people who just met. I remember it being the same with camp last year, it's just so different than when you meet in real life and it amazes me every time.
So anyway, last night was the official opening gala. They showed 'Breathe In' and then super fancy people only (and us) were invited to the gala in the National Museum. It is such a stunning location for a party!
And yes, we did see Felicity Jones and also Natalie Dormer (from Game of Thrones which I am not watching but I totally recognized her anyway haha) I am sure there were so many other celebs but man it's hard to spot famous people when you have to walk super slow in super painful (but pretty) heels. So we switched to flats after a while and danced the night away (always wanted to write that!)
And the best part was probably the photo booth (oh and the free drinks! and free food!)

So maybe I will manage to sort out the pictures from my phone and show you pictures of my co workers taking pictures with famous people while I am in the bathroom (fail).

Oh and this little video from the opening night:

3 Film Festival treats! {EIFF special}

The Film Festival posters are all over town and the programm is out for a week now- I am so so so excited!
My personal highlight would definately be Emma Watson actually attenting the festival.
O.M.G. I am probably going to faint if I should see her up close (from far away I was already dazzled), nevertheless I am soo so excited for the premiere of The Bling Ring!

Shooting Bigfoot- I am just fascinated by things like this- Nessie, Bigfoot, ...whatever it is!

Struck by Lightning- What can I say, I am a sucker for teenie films. And I love Rebel Wilson.

Our documentary {The Lost Garden}

This is our last project of the semester, a short documentary.
I am so proud of us, I really like the way it turned out. And these people in the video are the sweetest, they were so welcoming and so helpful. If you should ever go to Penicuik, go and help them out!

my top 3 videos this week

I never really thought I liked Justin Timberlake, but Mona is a bit in love with him and I love his new song 'Mirrors'- Julia and I watched this show late at night in the Highlands and could not stop laughing. Jonathan Ross and Justin just get drunk on Tequila and play mini golf- it's hilarious and Justin is so funny and charming!

A recent advert from Three, the mobile phone company. SO CUTE!!!

This is HILARIOUS, if you haven't seen it- WATCH IT! We all could not stop laughing.

I want to linger...

I want to linger... from joyce on Vimeo.

 Always makes me sad when we sing it-

Mm-Mm and come September
We’ll all remember
Camping days and friendships true

Mm-Mm and as the years go by
Remember this and sigh
This is goodnight and not good bye.

the Scottish accent

I think the biggest sort of shock when I came here was the Scottish accent.
At Uni it is not that different, most of our lecturers have a fairly normal accent and you can understand them very easily. But outside of uni, in the shops and on the street? Jeeez, I remember too many situations where I was walking past people and had no idea what they were saying.

I feel pretty okay with my understanding skills of these (sometimes) strange Scottish accents and find myself copying their accents, especially with words like 'no'.

I found some funny videos of Scottish accents and I especially like the first one just because there is so much swearing. I think it's hilarious the way they swear.

By now I really do like the accent, but I am still lost when I have to interview an older Scottish man on the telephone. Jeeez, especially when I have to record his postcode. He tries to say A, I understand E and vice versa. Thank god for the phonetic alphabet.
