travel to do list {3 special places}

I like this idea of thinking that I left something behind at the places I traveled. And I don't mean the earrings I forgot in a hotel room in New York or the plastic bottle I threw out in California.

I mean things like this, stuff that stays (for a bit at least).

Market Theater Gum Wall
Put my gum on to this wall in Seattle

locks, paris
Put a lock on this bridge in Paris and throw the key in to the river

Fontana di Trevi
Throw a coin in to this fountain in Rome (there are around 3000€ in there, every day!)

Road trip NY- Boston {travel plans II}

Department of Applied Mathematics, Brown University
Brown University

Gay Head Light
Martha's Vineyard

newport
Newport, Rhode Island

I am just looking in to places to visit on our road trip and I keep stumbling over these beautiful pictures of beaches, small towns, harbours, small islands... all so pretty!
And Brown University is on the list because I already loved the other Ivy League Universities: Harvard and Yale were so beautiful. Also I keep thinking these places are only a dream and there are not really that many smart people attending those schools. So to have a sneak peek is more than fascinating.

Breathe In {film: coming soon}

via x

'Breathe in' is the film that's gonna open the Edinburgh Film Festival and I am SO excited!
3 things why I am already in love with it:
  • Felicity Jones (watch 'Like Crazy')
  • it's about an exchange student
  • the story takes place in upstate New York, close to where I lived

My super talented friends

http://onceuponadesign.spreadshirt.co.uk/
I think I have never really mentioned my smart friends from Uni, but now I have to brag a little bit: They are each doing really cool stuff and a lot of times I feel quite... umm boring.
Anyways, Michelle and I are super into the TV show "Once upon a time" and among a lot of other things, she now designs fan shirts.
I like to say that I kinda forced her to do the one with Ruby, the one you can see in the picture. I love love love the design!

I really hope a lot of people will buy these, just because they are so much better than those other fan shirts out there.

So people and fans, go ahead and buy those shirts!

New York, New York {travel plans}

via tumblr
It is done, we booked our flights and that means Miriam and I are going to be reunited in New York. Finally! She hasn't been to the States after our AuPair year, so this is going to be even more exciting!
We both fly in to JFK, will go into Manhattan and stay there a few days until we will visit our old host families, spend some time with the kids and then go on a small road trip along the coast, going up to Boston. I am so excited for the beaches, the small towns, Cape Cod, eating fresh fish- did I say how excited I am?

So our trip will start with a couple of days in New York City, and this is what I reaaally need to see (again):

via x
The High Line! It's a park built on an old rail line which leads through the city. So cool!

via x
The Metroplitan Museum of Art-
Never made it there during my AuPair year, so this is my chance now.

via x
Something that makes this trip even better- we are finally both over 21. So this Warm Up party sponsored the MoMa is definately on our list!

I really want to take a picture like this: At night, looking at the skyline from Brooklyn.

❤❤ {two things that make me happy}

via goodreads
I forget how much I like reading- I can't complain, our readings for uni are still quite interesting, but I do love these kind of books a bit better!
And this is only the beginning of my summer reading list ❤
I know this is crazy because I am already going to Texas next year and don't really have that much money, but Miriam and I are hopefully going to New York this September.
The idea of this trip makes me sooo happy- shopping, beach, roadtripping, drive-in outdoor movies, NYC, seeing our old places ❤❤

and also I should really go to bed.

best day ever.

On Thursday, after the exam, we were sitting in our students union bar.
I missed a call and I hate when weird numbers call me. Julia googled the number and it turned out to be the Edinburgh Film Festival office number.
They wanted to invite me for an interview, because I applied to volunteer at the festival this year.
So today was the interview-
to be honest, it was not really an interview.
I talked to two nice women about my summer plans, America, got compliments for so many things and ended up being told that they want me. to volunteer. to greet the filmmakers and all the other important people. because they think I would be perfect for that job.

mind. blown.

needless to say, I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
