A new design +more stuff!

I know this blog has been really quiet, but I have had plenty of ideas for it and never did anything about it. This wonderful weekend without any dissertation poop finally let me focus on this space and so here we go, a slightly different design.
I have added something I wanted to do for AGES: The pages underneath the header. Especially for like travel related things, you can now go on "my adventures" and find ways to look at my posts relating to Camp America, Texas or whatever you want to find.

Then there is also the regular search bar in the sidebar on the right, underneath the archive. Search results will display like this, which I really like:

If you want to find posts with a certain label, look at the bottom of the right sidebar, this is where you can find the labels I used most often. I use labels for each post, and I like to go a bit crazy with them, so I have a ridiculous amount of tags, so you can even find posts where I have used a list. Um yes. I like searchability!

Also, at the end of every post (not if you are reading my blog 'normally', only if you read a specific post- so click on the title of it if you want to!), it will now suggest similar posts you might like. Yay!

I have had an about me page for longer, but it was always a bit hidden. You had to click on my profile picture- that still works, but it is also accessible through the top links underneath the header. And for new readers, this will be even easier.

Now I hope this will make life a tiny bit easier on this blog.
Let me know what you think! (or if something's not working!)

Annoyed.

Urgh I am so annoyed that I can't keep this blogging thing going. In a way there are so many things I want to share here, but then when I sit in front of my laptop it just all seems to trivial.
This is not my first time in America and a lot of my observations are not really that "new" to me, so they don't end up here. I love it here, but at the same time I don't want to give the impression that everything here is always happy. Blogging life is hard, people!
Anyways.

A couple things I love so very much right now:

American Authors, who we saw at a concert at SXSW. They are SO good! Especially this song, which is my gym jam.

Another amazing song, by Ingrid Michaelson. We saw her as well and she was kicking ass!

This website. Roadtrippers. Amazing. You can plan your whole trip there, it will tell you how long it will take and other fancy trallala- so useful! So here is the trip we are going to take this weekend. My friend is coming to visit and I am so so so excited to show her Austin and Texas and my life here!

my 3 favorite blogs {like ever}

http://www.magnoliaelectric.net
My idol, haha. She is incredibly creative and her posts are always perfectly composed, beautifully written and inspiring in every way. And now she is going to go on a 3 week road trip through California and whatnot. I am so jealous and cannot wait for her pictures.

www.thelondoner.me

I only started reading her blog around 2 months ago, but man... I am obsessed. Rose is pretty, funny, doesn't hesitate to eat loads of amazing (sometimes unhealthy) food, has super handsome friends and a super super cute dog named Custard. Her London tips are great and even better, her recipes. Gotta love her!

Marlous is a 21 year old girl from the Netherlands. Her blog is full of great tips for restaurants or stationary shops (you got me already), lunch inspiration, DIY projects, interior inspiration, travel reports and so much more. She wears beautiful outfits and I love her blog design, I just wish she would write more in English.

A new design {summery chevron}

I wanted to have a summer kind of design for a while and here it is!
Don't know how long I will like it, but for now I am happy. I love the chevron pattern and I really wanted the plane drawing back in it (which was the template for my tattoo, btw)

The background is from The Darling Blog, thank you!
The font used is called Sudestada and KG Flavor and Frames.

my 3 favorite 'mama' blogs

Not a lot of things make me want to have children in the future.
Kids I see on the street don't and the crying ones from the playground behind our flat most certainly do not make me excited for being a mama one day.

But these 3 blogs do:
They make raising children sound fun and even though not always easy, worth it.

James is a mother of four now and they seem like the funnest family ever.

Sydney is only 24, which is crazy.

This is Danielle, her husband Hank and their son Henry.

new header
